当時、若干17歳とは思えない、ゴスペルで鍛えた力強い歌声で評論家から絶賛されました。商業的にも成功し、ビルボードHOT100で1位を獲得した他、ヨーロッパでもヒットしました。
原曲は1997年にイギリスの女性グループ、エターナルが発表した曲です。こちらはイギリスを中心にヨーロッパでもヒットしました。
プロデュースはDestiny’s Childの「Say my name」や、レディー・ガガの「Telephone」を手掛けたアメリカのプロデューサー、ロドニー・ジャーキンスです。
