アメリカの女性シンガー、フェイス・ヒルが2001年に発売した曲です。
戦争中の恋人たちを描いた映画「パール・ハーバー」の挿入歌として作られた曲で、今曲は評論家からも高評価を獲得し大ヒットしました。
映画の映像を使ったMVも作られていましたが、Youtubeでは公開されていませんでした。
当初、セリーヌ・ディオンさんに歌唱オファーしたものの、セリーヌさん側から「サントラの女王になりたくない」とお断りがあり、フェイス・ヒルさんが担当することになったそうです。
セリーヌ・ディオンの歌声を感じさせる壮大な曲調を、フェイス・ヒルが見事に歌い上げています。

自然な日本語になるよう「その気持ち」と訳しました。

「within my reach」は「私の届く範囲」
ちまり「私の手の届く範囲」の意味になります。
「make it through」は「やり遂げる」や
「上手く切り抜ける」などの意味です。
「owe」は「借りがある」の意味で
「～のおかげ」や「恩義」などの意味にもなります。）

映画も世界中で大ヒットしましたが、実は戦争映画としては酷評されています。日米の両方からありえない設定と指摘されているので、あくまで戦争という題材を使用した「恋愛映画」として観たほうが楽しめます。
