母国では7週連続1位を記録し、カイリー最大のヒット曲になりました。
元は1962年にアメリカの歌手リトル・エヴァが発表した曲です。1974年にはアメリカのバンド、グランド・ファンク・レイルロードにもカバーされ、共に全米1位を獲得しました。

曲は知っているけれど歌詞の内容は知らない、という方が多い一曲です。ご覧の通り、子供をあやすような内容です。これは曲を作った夫妻が、子供をあやすベビーシッターの歌を聞いて着想を得たから、という話があります。そしてそのベビーシッターがエヴァだった、と。あくまで噂ですが、愛情溢れる良い話だなと思いました。
