2010年にフィリピンの歌手・シャリース(現ジェイク・ザイラス)さんがリリースした楽曲です。同曲が収録されたアルバムは、米ビルボード200で8位に入る世界的大ヒットしました。同チャートのトップ10に初めて入ったアジア人アーティストになりました。
日本でもヒットし音楽番組で生歌を披露してくれた映像も残っていますが、当時18歳ほどの若さで圧巻の歌唱力です。
恋人との普遍的な愛をピラミッドに見立てた歌詞と力強い曲調、そしてシャリースさんの歌声が素晴らしい一曲です。

アイヤズさんのラップパートは一部省略していますが、歌詞自体はとても正統派です。だからこそ訳す時に難しいです。
ネイティブでもない私みたいな者があまり意訳し過ぎると、センスの無さも相まって陳腐な内容だと思われる恐れもあるので、曲の良さがそのまま伝わるように訳しました。
