アメリカで10週以上の首位を獲得し、イギリスでは2020年代のシングルチャートで最も長く首位を保持した大ヒット曲となりました。
アレックスは早くに両親と死別し、2019年にTiktok集団「ハイプ・ハウス」を共同で起ち上げ活動してきました。そこで出会ったクヴル・アノンと付き合い、Netflixのリアリティ・コンテンツで偽の結婚式を挙げ注目を集めました。
2022年には集団を離れ、後に彼女と本当に結婚します。この曲は敬虔なクリスチャンであるアレックスが、彼女に向けて書いたそうです。
