1972年にアメリカのデュオ・カーペンターズが発表した曲です。当時の世界的人気は勿論、現代においても世界的人気を獲得している、正に不朽の名曲です。
実はこちらのCDはアルバムの収録曲でしたが、翌年の1973年6月に、別の歌手がカバーとして発表したところ大ヒットし、その3カ月後に本家もシングルとして発売することになったそうです。

「～が突然私に起こる」「私に襲い掛かる」などの意味。
「wonder」は「感動」や「奇跡」「不思議」などの意味。）

（「especially」は「特に」などの意味で
同じ意味を持つ「specially」と違い
比較対象がある場合に使われます。
「nearest thing」は「一番近いもの」の意味。
自然な日本語になるよう「一番近い存在」と訳しました。）

And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I’ve found, ever since you’ve been around
Your love’s put me at the top of the world
（「explanation」は「解釈」や「説明」などの意味。
「ever since」は「それ以来ずっと」の意味で
「you’ve been around」は「ずっとここに居る」の意味。
「ever since you’ve been around」は
「あなたがここに居てくれてからずっと」や
「あなたが現れてからずっと」などの意味になります。
「put me at」は「私を～に置く／配置する」の意味ですが
「～の状態にする」の比喩表現でもあるので
自然な日本語になるよう「押し上げてくれた」と訳しました。）

And it’s tellin’ me that things are not the same
In the leaves on the trees, and the touch of the breeze
There’s a pleasing sense of happiness for me
（「in the wind」は「風に乗って」や「風の中で」の意味。
吹く風が世界中を周って「あなたは唯一の存在だったよ」
と教えてくれる、という意味だと解釈しています。
その後の歌詞にも何でもないことを新鮮に感じている描写で、
風という息吹に命の活力と愛の芽吹きを見出した
とても甘美で浪漫的な一節だと思いました。）
There is only one wish on my mind
When this day is through I hope that I will find
That tomorrow will be, just the same for you and me
All I need will be mine if you are here
（「day is through」は「一日の終わった」や
「一日が完了した」などの意味。
「find／見つける」は「感じる」や「思う」の意味もあります。
どちらも経験した上で発見した、のような意味合いになります。）
