イギリスの歌手エド・シーランが2011年に発表した曲です。
MVには映画「ハリー・ポッター」のロン役で知られる俳優のルパート・グリントが出演しています。
「レゴ・ブロック」で相手との関係を表現している独創的な歌詞です。

「heal／癒す」などではなく
「mend」なんだと解釈しています。
「raging」は「荒れ狂う」の意味。）

（ここの「I’m out of touch, I’m out of love」
そして「I’m out of sight, I’m out of mind」は
相手が言っていることなのかなと解釈しています。
前のパートの「raging」は感情が「荒れている」
などの時にも使われるので、
失恋して酷く取り乱している相手に
歌っているのかなと思いました。
「all those things I’ve done」は
「私がやってきた全てのこと」の意味ですが
自然な日本語になるように「どの時」と訳しました。
「all for you」は直訳すると「全てあなたの為に」ですが
「あなただけに捧げる」や「あなただけを愛する」
のような愛情表現の意味があります。
「in time」は「今に」「時間内に」などの意味で
適した時間内に間に合うように、というニュアンスです。）

（「塗り絵」と訳した「paint you by nimbers」ですが
「paint-by-numbers」という遊びのことです。

I think the braces are breaking

（「Don’t hold me down」は
レゴ・ブロックの事だと解釈しています。
「braces」は「歯列矯正器具」を意味しますが
同時に「留め具」や「支え」の意味もあります。
最後の「it’s more than I can take」は
「私にはもう耐えられない」
「これ以上は手にできない」などの意味で、
歌詞の内容から「そろそろ僕に愛させて」
のニュアンスだと解釈しています。）

エド・シーランさんの曲はネイティブな方に言わせても「難解」かつ「詩的」だそうです。訳すのが難しいですが、その分やり甲斐のある素晴らしい歌詞、そして曲です。
