「保守的キリスト教徒の政治団体」を指します。
中絶の禁止や武力の強化などを主張していました。
この曲が発売された当時は既に解散していましたが
この4年後再結成しています。）

（「underworld」は「地下社会」や「裏社会」
「犯罪社会」「暗黒街」そして「冥界」などを意味します。
「one nation under dog」はアメリカの忠誠の誓いの一節
「one nation under god／神の元に分断はしない」のもじりで
社会の監視体制や情報統制が強まっていることへの皮肉
の意味として使われます。
「A face in the crowd／群衆の中の一つの顔」は
「どこにでもいる凡人」や「目立たない存在」
などの意味があります。
「unsung／歌わない」は「評価されない」の意味。
「against the mold」は「常識を破る」や
「型に嵌らない」などの意味。
「singled out」は「～を特別に選ぶ」や
「～を選び出す」などの意味。）

「列からはみ出した」の意味で、
「規則に従わない」や「逸脱する」
などの意味があります。
「Marching／行進する」と
「out of time／流行遅れ」で
「時代遅れ」などの意味になります。）

（「silence of ～」は「静寂の～」ですが
「～を封じる」「黙らせる」などの意味があります。
「a thousand broken hearts／千の傷ついた心」は
「大勢の人が胸を痛めている」という状況を指す比喩表現です。
「For crying out loud」は強い苛立ちを込めた
「いい加減にしろ」などの意味になります。
「A free for all／みんな自由」は参加する自由や
規則に縛られない状況を意味します。
「無秩序」や「乱闘」などを意味する場合もあります。
最後の「you are at your own sight」は
訳が難しいですが、「you are at／あなたはここに居る」
「your own sight／自分の目で見る」の意味から
「自分でその場所に立って自分の目で確かめろ」
